What data I hold about you, and what I do with it
This website is a static presentation — it has no accounts, and no form that submits anything to a server. The only way to reach me is the e-mail or phone links on the page. So there is not much to write here, and what follows is written to actually be read.
Who the data controller is
The data controller is Lukáš Oreška, Company ID (IČO) 74962116, based at Za Kinem 1052, 289 12 Sadská, Czech Republic. This is a sole trader operating under his own name — not a company where you'd write to some generic "info@" address. Whatever you send lands with me directly.
Contact: dev@coolsoft.cz.
What data I process
Only what you send me by e-mail or tell me over the phone when you get in touch with an inquiry — typically your name, contact details (e-mail, phone) and the content of your message or request. The website itself has no contact form and no user accounts. If you buy a licence for one of my plugins, I also hold licence data — see Plugin buyers. Beyond that I only see aggregate visitor statistics, and only if you allow them — see Cookies and analytics below.
Plugin buyers
Licences for my plugins (for example Bootstrap UI for TinyMCE) are sold by resellers who handle the payment themselves: Polar Software, Inc. (USA) through the checkout on the plugin's website, and the Codester marketplace (Soniq Internet Media, the Netherlands). They process payment and card details as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, which you see when you buy. I never get access to your card number.
From the reseller I receive only what I need to keep track of the licence: name, e-mail, country, order number and licence key. I use them to know who holds a licence, to handle bug reports and refunds, and to let you know about an important update. The legal basis is performance of the contract (the licence). If you buy a licence directly from me by invoice, I also process your billing details as with any other contract.
Licence data is kept for as long as I provide updates and support for the licence, plus 1 year. Invoices are kept for 10 years, as described below.
Purpose of processing
I use the data from your inquiry to:
- Reply to your inquiry The most common purpose — responding to what you write.
- Prepare a quote or offer Based on what you need.
- Perform an agreed contract If we agree to work together.
- Issue an invoice This one isn't a choice — it's a legal obligation under accounting and tax law.
Retention period
Inquiries that do not result in a contract are kept for 1 year from the last message, then deleted. Accounting documents (invoices and the data tied to them) are kept for 10 years, as required under Czech accounting and tax law. That period isn't my choice — it's set by law the same way for every business.
Recipients
I never sell your data or share it with advertisers. It only ever reaches what's operationally necessary: the e-mail hosting provider the communication passes through, and the accountant who processes invoices. When you buy a plugin, also the resellers Polar and Codester (see Plugin buyers). If you allow analytics, Google also receives statistics about your visit (see below). Nowhere else.
Cookies and analytics
Analytics only runs with your consent. On your first visit a bar at the bottom asks you. Until you click “Allow analytics”, no Google script is loaded and nothing is sent anywhere. I don't do advertising or remarketing.
I measure so that I know which pages people actually read, where they come from and whether they get in touch. I use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Limited. Once allowed, it records:
- which pages you view, for how long and how far you scroll,
- where you came from (search engine, a link on another site, direct),
- device type, browser and approximate location at country or city level,
- clicks on e-mail, phone, demo and the Buy button.
I don't send your name, e-mail address or the content of your messages. According to Google's terms, Analytics does not store IP addresses. I keep the statistics for 14 months, after which Google deletes them automatically.
Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga
and _ga_…, valid for 14 months.
Your choice is remembered in the cs_consent
cookie for 180 days, after which I ask again. It applies to all my sites at once:
coolsoft.cz, bootstrapui.coolsoft.cz and manual.coolsoft.cz.
The legal basis is your consent. Google may also process the data in the USA; that transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can change your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer of every page. When you withdraw it, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Apart from analytics, the only thing the site stores in your browser is a logo preference — the
choice between two logo variants, which you can switch with a URL parameter
(?_logo=5b or
?_logo=7d). That choice is
remembered in your browser's localStorage
— technically not a cookie, and more importantly, it is never sent
anywhere. It stays in your browser until you clear it yourself.
Your rights
Regarding any data I hold about you, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection to processing. Just write to dev@coolsoft.cz and I'll take care of it.
If you feel your data isn't being handled correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů) — uoou.cz.
Got a question about this?
Write or call — I'll answer anything about your data personally.
